Wow! Another Baxter Creek Golf Club wedding that was another huge success. I’ve been very fortunate to not only get referrals from Baxter Creek but to have worked with such great clients. Kristin and Justin’s late summer wedding at Baxter Creek was great. Even with the threat of rain for most of the day, the weather held out and their wedding was fabulous.
Kristin and Justin did their preparations at separate residences not far from Baxter Creek. With some simply scheduling I spent time at both of their locations capturing some great moments of the early prep and pre-wedding excitement. Then off to the wedding venue I went for their picture perfect outdoor ceremony. As per the usual schedule, when the ceremony was done we went through some family pics then into golf carts to explore locations on the golf course. Once the wedding party and bride & groom pic’s were done, off we went to the dining area at the club house where everyone was already waiting for their big entrance.
Their evening was a ton of fun with heart felt speeches, singing challenges to get Kristin & Justin to kiss, the usual great meal that Baxter Creek provides and then a nice intimate first dance on the outer deck.
Below are images that I thought quickly summarized their day. Enjoy.
Recently I found myself at the beautiful home of Elizabeth & Bruce Thompson, the parents of my wedding client Ian and his stunning bride Maxime. Their century home with its detailed landscaping was a perfect, beautiful location to host an intimate family wedding.
Last year Maxime and Ian took me to the family cottage located at the 1000 Islands for their engagement shoot. It was a great ‘get to know you’ experience at a beautiful location. Before we left for their engagement shoot Maxime and Ian gave me a tour of Ian’s parent’s property and explained their wedding plans. To see it materialize a year later, exactly as they envisioned showed me their dedicated effort to put together a perfect day.
The day started with me capturing a surprise for Ian. He is a musician (drummer) and he had a new drum set waiting for him at home as a wedding gift from Maxime. Impressive! He was speechless and it was a perfect gift. After the guys were ready for the day I did the quick drive to Ian’s parent’s home to spend some time with the ladies as they finished their preparations. After the moment of capturing Maxime’s father’s ‘first look’, we shot a few images on the beautiful staircase and then off to the backyard ceremony. With the fantastic live band and surprise music performance of Maxime and Ian, the reception was underway and what a blast it was. We were even blessed with an evening rainbow!
Even though there was a constant threat of rain on their wedding day, Mother Nature cooperated and their backyard ceremony and tent reception were perfect.
At the end of summer on a day when the weather was perfect … the wedding of Peterborough locals Dwan & Rob took me to the beautiful and well known Peterborough Golf and Country Club. Many are not aware that the Peterborough Golf and Country Club has founded over 100 years ago in 1897! Here is a snippet from their website:
The first Clubhouse, opened in 1900, sat at the crown of Auburn Hill, overseeing three fairways. The Beechwood farmhouse, now the site of the PGCC curling rink, operated from the 1930s’ to 1959 when the current Clubhouse was opened. Since 1959, the PGCC has been an all season operation, anchored on golf and curling, and the Clubhouse has been improved and enlarged over the years.
As you can see from the small sample of images I am sharing on my blog, Dwan and Rob had both their wedding ceremony and reception on site. Just a short walk from the clubhouse is a quiet little corner with a gazebo that serves as a fantastic location for an intimate outdoor ceremony. After their ceremony it was off to the golf course for some quick wedding party and bride and groom photos. Since Rob and his buddies are golfers, I naturally had to create an image of Rob taking time out on his wedding day to hammer a few balls, all while Dwan wasn’t looking all that impressed. LOL
A huge thank you to Dwan and Rob for selecting me to be their wedding photographer. It was a ton of fun shooting both their friends wedding last year (Alison & Chad) and seeing everyone again at this wedding. I hope to get to shoot more of their friends and families weddings in the future.
