At the end of summer on a day when the weather was perfect … the wedding of Peterborough locals Dwan & Rob took me to the beautiful and well known Peterborough Golf and Country Club. Many are not aware that the Peterborough Golf and Country Club has founded over 100 years ago in 1897! Here is a snippet from their website:
The first Clubhouse, opened in 1900, sat at the crown of Auburn Hill, overseeing three fairways. The Beechwood farmhouse, now the site of the PGCC curling rink, operated from the 1930s’ to 1959 when the current Clubhouse was opened. Since 1959, the PGCC has been an all season operation, anchored on golf and curling, and the Clubhouse has been improved and enlarged over the years.
As you can see from the small sample of images I am sharing on my blog, Dwan and Rob had both their wedding ceremony and reception on site. Just a short walk from the clubhouse is a quiet little corner with a gazebo that serves as a fantastic location for an intimate outdoor ceremony. After their ceremony it was off to the golf course for some quick wedding party and bride and groom photos. Since Rob and his buddies are golfers, I naturally had to create an image of Rob taking time out on his wedding day to hammer a few balls, all while Dwan wasn’t looking all that impressed. LOL
A huge thank you to Dwan and Rob for selecting me to be their wedding photographer. It was a ton of fun shooting both their friends wedding last year (Alison & Chad) and seeing everyone again at this wedding. I hope to get to shoot more of their friends and families weddings in the future.
On a recent sunny, hot summer day at a private family farm … Jessica and Tyler tied the knot. Choosing to hold all elements of their wedding day at Tyler’s parents farm was an excellent choice. They had plenty of room, two private on-site locations for each to get ready and an active barn that for the wedding was cleaned up and looked fantastic. I have always felt that wedding receptions in old barns are rich with character and atmosphere. Plus, with the reception being in their own family’s barn, it made for a much more personal and intimate venue.
A couple elements of their wedding that stood out for me was a surprise live musical performance by the twins and Tyler’s Vet proudly staged outside the barn. Oh … and the chickens roaming freely were a great addition to the farm atmosphere.
Great family and friends, a casual but beautifully decorated atmosphere, a great meal and great music made for what I saw as one fantastic wedding. A huge thanks to Jessica and Tyler for bringing me in to photograph their wedding day!
Recently I had the pleasure of spending the day with Victoria and Mike at their beautiful Eganridge wedding. Even though the weather was quite threatening that day, Mother Nature was very kind and kept the dark storm clouds on the other side of Sturgeon Lake. This allowed for their planned lakeside ceremony to still take place at the large scenic tree down by the water followed by family pic’s and some time with the wedding party at the beautiful DunsfordHouse and some time on the golf course.
The club house at Eganridge is an impressive building with an elegant restaurant and very nice ballroom that made for a tastefully decorated wedding reception. And I should commend that the staff were super kind and accommodating.
A great bride and groom surrounded by a great family … all at a great venue made for a …. wait for it …. great day!
