It was a beautiful ceremony (conducted by Father Keith Wallace) that began with some cute signs carried down the aisle by even cuter children (see pics below). When the ceremony was done it was off to perform the usual schedule of family formals, wedding party pics and finally Katie & Kenneth photo time. All photos and the reception took just a short drive back up the highway to Burleigh Falls Inn. Naturally being in Burleigh Falls, Katie, Kenneth and I did a quick trip to the popular rapids area and captured some stunning images.
Burleigh Falls Inn served a great meal, the speeches were heart-felt and the DJ (Mike Gardner of MacMillan Entertainment) did a great job keeping the dance floor hoping. It was a great wedding and I believe the small group of photos I selected illustrated this well. Enjoy and thanks for visiting!
Beverley and Chris are a rock’n fun couple from the city of Peterborough with big plans this winter for a southern destination wedding (of which I have yet to be invited to!). With only a handful of family and friends that are going to be in attendance at their destination wedding they are planning a big bash at Baxter Creek Golf Club in May 2015. Before the snow flies and they are full-steam-ahead to go south for their wedding, we spent some time this fall at Burleigh Falls (20 minutes north-east of Peterborough on Hwy 28) to capture some awesome engagement images.
We had a great time getting to know each other better and explore some of the beautiful Stoney Lake waterfront. Below are a few of my fav’s from our time together.
Summer 2014 took Laura, Paul and me to the beautiful Burleigh Falls location, just a short drive north east of Peterborough, Ontario. We started their engagement pictures behind the still active (both dining and rooms to rent) Burleigh Island Lodge. Behind the lodge is a great quiet location for some dock and excellent lake images. From here we wandered over to the south side of the rapids to capture some long exposure sunset images. With Laura and Paul being up for anything and in a great location with great light, they were very patient as we took several excellent images with the Burleigh Falls backdrop.
This September Laura and Paul are getting married at The Ranch Resort in Bethany. A venue I’ve been to before and one I’m looking forward to returning to. The Ranch has a separate bar and dance floor area from where the dining takes place which is very convenient and they have a large deck, a huge pond and tons of parking. It is a great wedding venue for those looking for a rural setting south west of Peterborough.
Here are a few of my selections from our great engagement photography session.
